Pavel Brázda’s Human Comedy, as presented at the Municipal House, marks the triumphant conclusion of a large cycle of paintings that the author began working on in the last century. At the same time, it can be considered the culmination of hominism, the second original Czech contribution to artistic -isms (aside from Štýrský and Toyen’s artificialism). Pavel Brázda founded hominism together with Jaroslav Dresler in 1943 and he remained faithful to the essence of this artistic movement to the end.
